To test a more metallic tone, we went for a tight, Mesa-style saturation via the Treadplate model. If you’re someone who is thinking of getting into the world of Amp Simulator Software, then you’ve no doubt heard of Bias FX 2. BIAS Amp 2 is a solid improvement over its predecessor, with stronger, more responsive amp tones. I was previously using the old version of Bias FX and recently upgraded to Bias FX 2. If the presets are locked at startup, try adding these lines to the hosts file:ġ27.0.0.1 pg-tonecloud-webapp.herokuapp. In this post, I’ll be giving my full and detailed Bias FX 2 Review. It is also worth noting that there are a lot of presets, so the plugin may slow down when loading. To remove them, clear the contents of the state_cache folder (this will also remove any presets you have created yourself). Install additional presets (optional): install the plugin (DO NOT RUN), run GlobalPresets.exe, select the unpack folder “Plugin installed folder\state_cache”.Īttention: installation of additional presets is irreversible. (Optional) Added the ability to save the cache of the internal browser (CEF Subprocess) also in the folder with the plugin, see install.cmd.Added a link to the local state of the program (so as not to clog the Documents folder ).Added a link to the folder with the program logs.Cut out the 32-bit version (the installers are quite different, so there is no way to combine the distribution for both versions).BIAS AMP 2 revolutionizes virtual amplifier design, providing the tools to take your finished guitar tone anywhere from the studio to the stage and back again. You can use Amp Match to clone the tone of real equipment or a guitar track. Please note that Spark’s ToneCloud ONLY contains presets made with Spark, not with other products such as BIAS FX 2, BIAS AMP 2, etc. BIAS AMP 2 is the ultimate virtual guitar amp designer that truly recreates the tone and feel of real tube amps, allowing you to mix and match components to create the perfect amp. Introduction: ToneCloud allows you to download the preset you like and upload the preset you would like to share with other Spark users. There are already hundreds of Amp Match models available created by users, producers, and engineers, as well as artists such as Mark Holcomb from Periphery, Ola Englund, Rusty Cooley, among many others.Your tone is your personality – and sometimes nothing more than a custom setting can represent a product. It then executes the tonal compensation and enhancement needed to make this current amp model accurately match the target amplifier. Originally released for BIAS Professional only, Amp Match accurately captures the tone of any tube amplifier by analyzing and compare a currently designed BIAS amp model with the sound of a real mic’d amp or file source. Perhaps that's something a desktop user could chime in on, also.ĭoes anyone have BIAS Desktop or know more about how well this works? One thing I am not clear on is if iOS users can download only patches from a Positive Grid-endorsed list of sources, or if anyone with a Two Rock Studio, Silvertone, Supro, or (insert amp here) at home can upload a patch and make it available to iOS users. I'm also not clear on how Amp Match portrays the gain structure of an amp - unless you record a range of static tones that are assembled into a "dynamic" picture of that amp by the software. To be clear, you CANNOT create an Amp Match preset using the iOS apps - that is still reserved for the desktop professional edition. The software then tries to match that as close as it can using the BIAS engine to create a virtual BIAS version of the amp. Amp Match is a feature in the desktop version of BIAS, which (as I understand it) allows you to record real-life amps either through DI or mic'ed up. There are many amp sims out there nowadayssome DAWs even include their ownand each one has its own particular take on the art of emulating the sound and response of real amps. BIAS iPad now allows users to download "Amp Match" presets from the community! Positive Grid has a reputation for making uniquely powerful amp simulations with more features than most. I actually had shelved BIAS for the time due to latency on my older device, but this update definitely gets my attention.
